Norman Mailer (1923, Long Branch, New Jersey – 2007, New York) oli yhdysvaltalainen kirjailija ja toimittaja. Häntä pidetään yhtenä merkittävimmistä toisen maailmansodan jälkeisistä jälkeistä yhdysvaltalaiskirjailijoista. Mailer osoitti lahjakkuutta jo teini-ikäisenä, sillä hän pääsi opiskelemaan Harvardin yliopistoon vain 16-vuotiaana. Hän valmistui ilmailuinsinööriksi ja hänet värvättiin armeijaan, jossa hän palveli Tyynellämerellä vuosina 1944-1946.
